We will send you your VA/GTMC order once your payment has been cleared. Each course, including the exam, must be completed within 9 months from the date of receiving the course.

   Terms and Conditions of study

During each Module you may request 2 emails of assistance. Please send all emails to [email protected] titled "Self Study email query" clearly stating Level 1 or Level 2 and the Module and the page number in the Student Manual your query refers to, and your query. When each Module is completed you may request a further Review for marking and feedback. Send an email titled "Self Study Review" and clearly stating Level 1 or Level 2 and the Review number you require.

These terms and conditions are valid until 1st January 2009.

1. Terminology
In these conditions, except where the context otherwise defines: 'Client' means any company, firm, organisation, individual or other body or person for whom the materials and qualification is provided.

'Company' means the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH).

'Programme' means study of the VA1 or VA2 materials and qualifications by distance learning, as offered by the Company.

2. Applications
Clients wishing to join a Programme must complete an application form and submit with other necessary documentation as specified by CTH, (see 'Apply' on the website). The Client must satisfy the entry requirements for the selected Programme and provide appropriate evidence, in order to be considered.

3. Overseas students
CTH is able to accept some international Clients based on where they are in relation to an approved CTH Self Study centre. Clients should contact CTH to find out more information. Individual Clients may be referred to an approved CTH Self Study centre for their examination. Fees will be charged in Pound Sterling.

4. Programme fees
Fees will be charged in Pound Sterling. Payment of the full fee must accompany all Client applications. Fee payment via company sponsorship must be made in full by the Client's company, upon receipt of an invoice. Where an invoice is raised, fees are payable within 14 days from the date of the invoice. In all circumstances, a company sponsoring an application is responsible for payment of the full fees due.

CTH reserves the right to cancel the issuing of Programme materials, tutor support and assessment in the event of non-payment of Programme fees.

CTH reserves the right to change the fees without prior notice. Programme fees charged will be those set at time of application.

5. Programme support and duration
Tutor support is available, in English only. Support includes a Study Manual which comprises of 4 Modules for VA1, 5 modules for VA2, with Exercises and Reviews at the end of each Module. Extra Reviews can be requested which will be marked and returned with full feedback from the tutor. Apart from the 4 extra Reviews for VA1, 5 extra Reviews for VA2, emails of communication may be sent if required, 8 emails for VA1 and 10 emails for VA2. Replies will be within 72 hours, Monday to Friday inclusive. The Study Manuals, in conjunction with tutor support, are designed to provide the information required to successfully complete the qualification. It is recommended that Clients follow all guidelines given.

The duration of the Programme is a maximum of 9 months from registration, (the Programme can be completed in less time). After this time tutor support will cease. If Clients are not able to meet the deadline for completion of the Programme they must contact the CTH office.

It is necessary for the Client to contact CTH to arrange their examination. Responsibility for these arrangements will lie with the Client.

6. Cancellation
If during the first 30 days, from first receipt of programme materials, Clients are not completely satisfied then CTH will refund in full the Client fees paid. The refund will be subject to the return of programme material in original condition, received by CTH at the time of the refund request. The client must meet any expenses incurred in returning materials, directly. The refund request must be made in writing to CTH.
